GOVERNMENT PAYDAY!
Today calls for a "Happy New Year" for your local government agency. It's the start of the new fiscal year and new funded budgets for the next 12 months.
Although many agencies and departments will be awash in new money, that money most likely will be less than it has been in past years. With tax collections down and the economy still in a downward spiral, money is tight. You can bet a lot of delayed purchases will be made over the coming days.
Also, don't be surprised to see Arizona lawmakers come back into session before this fiscal year ends June 30th to make any adjustments needed to keep the budget in balance.
