Contemporary string ensemble Barrage will perform a benefit concert in Tucson for TUSD’s Opening Minds through the Arts.

It’s no secret that arts education is often the easy target in these times of continuous budget shortfalls in our schools. However, there are many people that recognize the importance of a strong foundation in the arts as an integral part of teaching for the 21st century. Opening Minds through the Arts works to teach reading, writing, math and science to kindergarten through 8th grade students. Barrage, an innovative string ensemble from Alberta Canada, has developed an integrated program to educate, motivate and inspire students, and is bringing their touring show to Sahuaro High School, as a benefit for OMA.
